The Nell Peel Wolfe Lecture hosted by Mississippi University for Women’s Gordy Honors College will feature Ben Raines, environmental journalist, filmmaker and author Thursday, March 4 at 6 p.m. in a virtual event.
In his new book “Saving America’s Amazon,” Raines offers meticulous research and beautiful photography to explore the Tensaw Delta, the country’s most biodiverse ecosystem, and the risks it faces. He also wrote and produced “America’s Amazon,” a documentary airing on PBS stations nationwide.
With a team from the University of Southern Mississippi, Raines also located the wreck of the Clotilda, the last ship to transport enslaved Africans to the United States, in the Mobile River.
The virtual event begins at 6 p.m. and will be held as a Zoom Webinar. For the webinar link and more information, email [email protected].
