The Columbus-Lowndes Public Library will host an open house for its annual Festival of Trees Thursday, Dec. 10 from 4-6 p.m.
“We invite you to come and enjoy some live music and refreshments as you browse our trees,” said Brenda Durrett, festival co-chair. Twenty-two trees will be decorated by local businesses and group organizations in the Golden Triangle area.
The library’s large central tree that will be on display is made possible through a generous donation by Weyerhaeuser Timberlands Technology.
“Weyerhaeuser Timberlands Technology is happy to donate this Christmas tree for the people of Columbus to enjoy,” said Julio Rojas, director of Southern Timberlands Technology. “As part of our core values, whenever possible, we give back to the communities where our operations and employees are invested.”
In addition to live music, crafts and activities will be offered for children and teens. The community is invited to share the “joys of literacy and the holidays” Dec. 10.

The library is located at 314 Seventh St. N. in Columbus.
