Guided bird walk — Friends of Noxubee Refuge host a guided bird walk with Margaret Copeland at Bluff Lake at 10 a.m. at the Noxubee Refuge Visitor Center in Starkville. Identify and talk about species of duck found commonly during the winter at Noxubee. For more information, contact the center, 662-323-5548. Registration is not required; wear appropriate outdoor clothing.

Exhibit opening — A free reception from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Rosenzweig Arts Center features an open call show around the theme of the civil rights movement. In addition, the exhibit “Birmingham: The Movement that Changed the World” on display contains exclusive records, artifacts and photographs marking the 50th anniversary of the Birmingham civil rights movement.
