The Young Black Leadership Association in conjunction with Campus Recreation at Mississippi University for Women will host Ballin’ for the Cure, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament to benefit breast cancer research.
The tournament will take place Saturday, Oct. 13, on campus in the Stark Recreation Center. Doors open at 8 a.m. and tip-off is at 9 a.m.
“This event is a great opportunity for the community of MUW to connect with the community of Columbus for a great cause,” said Alonzo Bouldin Jr., YBLA planning committee member.
The event will take place all day, with family games at halftime, giveaways to spectators and players, and refreshments will be sold.
The entry fee for teams is $75; the last day for team entry is Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 5 p.m. The price for spectators at the door is $5 and $3 online before the event. Other donations will be accepted and all proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
