Mississippi University for Women’s Culinary Camp for Kids will again host four sessions for youth June 4-29.
The session dates for children who have completed the following grades by May 2012 are: Grades 2 and 3, June 4-8; Grades 4-6, June 11-15; Grades 4-6, June 18-22; and Grades 7-12, June 25-29.
In the professional setting of the Culinary Arts Institute, children will have the opportunity to learn and explore the world of foods through age-appropriate demonstration, lectures and hands-on work in the kitchen.
Food safety, proper sanitation and kitchen safety will be taught. Each day of camp will include practical techniques to produce the recipes of the day, which can be easily replicated at home. Etiquette will be practiced daily, as well as principles of good nutrition.
