Mississippi University for Women”s Office of Career Services will host its annual dining etiquette event Feb. 23-24. This year”s theme is Dining at Its Finest.
The general session will be held in the Claudia A. Limbert Assembly room Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The guest presenter is Dr. Christine Moore, coordinator of the Family and Consumer Sciences program at Brigham Young University in Utah, Ariz. Moore will give instructions on proper dining and business etiquette. This session is free and open to the public.
On Thursday, at 11:30 a.m., the Meals and Models Showcase and etiquette practice will take place in Pope Banquet Room, Hogarth Dining Center. There will be a buffet-style lunch to allow students to practice the etiquette tips they learned during the general session as they view the “What to Wear” fashion show sponsored by Belk.
“As a bonus, 40 of our etiquette participants will be chosen for an ultimate dining experience Thursday evening at 6 p.m.,” said Towanda Williams, assistant director of career services at MUW. “These students will be escorted by limo to a free dinner at our mystery restaurant.” The luxury ride is sponsored by Leo”s Limo Services and Premier Media Group.
Business attire is required and tickets must be presented for both events on Thursday. There is limited seating for the luncheon, and tickets should be picked up in Cochran Hall on the fourth floor.
