The town square in Carrollton, Ala., will fill with song and Christmas cheer Tuesday, Nov. 30, as music and the Carrollton Christmas Parade take centerstage.
The Pickens County Courthouse Foundation has announced that the University of West Alabama Chorus will perform a free concert at 7 p.m. in the courtroom in the historic courthouse. This seasonal program follows the town”s Christmas parade at 6:30 p.m. Prior to the parade, the Gordo First United Methodist Men”s Choir will entertain at 5:30 p.m. at the courthouse. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m., provided by the Carrollton First Baptist and Carrollton United Methodist Churches.
An “old-fashioned” Christmas tree covered with handmade decorations made at senior centers in Carrollton, Aliceville, Gordo and Reform, Ala., will be on display. The Courthouse gift shop will be open for holiday shopping.
Tax-deductible gifts in honor or memory of loved ones can be made to the Courthouse Foundation. All funds benefit restoration of the landmark building; a tax receipt will be provided.
Donations may be mailed to the Pickens County Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 382, Carrollton, AL, 35447-0382. Include the honoree”s name and address and the donor”s name and address, and specify if the gift is in memory, or in honor. Checks may be made to the Pickens County Courthouse Foundation.
