Library to host Mississippi Arts Commission’s Museum on Wheels

JACKSON — The Columbus-Lowndes Public Library is proud to welcome “Museum on Wheels: A Lesson in Visual Arts” to Columbus June 1-26. Museum on Wheels is a visual arts exhibit with replicas of contemporary and classic artwork. The goal of this exhibit is to bring communities together through the inspirational power of visual art and to serve as an educational tool for local residents and students.

“Even in communities that are rich with cultural organizations, this exhibit provides a free and accessible opportunity for residents to learn about the elements of visual arts and make connections to school curriculum, artistic endeavors and current exhibits in the community,” said Malcolm White, Executive Director of the Mississippi Arts Commission.

Young to old, beginning to advanced, teacher to student — all can learn about what value, texture, line, shape, and color are and how different artists combine these elements to produce beautiful works of art.

The exhibit will be viewable during regular library hours Mondays-Thursdays, 9 a.m to 6 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
