Columbus police are seeking a suspect in a Friday afternoon fatal shooting in an apartment on Waterworks Road.
First responders were called to an apartment on the 700 block of Waterworks Road just after 3 p.m., Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton said. When they arrived, they found Amarcus McMillen, 23, deceased from a gunshot wound.
A female victim also suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Shelton said. A press release issued Saturday said her injuries are non-life-threatening.
Shelton said officers believe a masked suspect entered the apartment at about the time of the incident. Initially, he said witnesses described the shooter as a Black male.
Anyone with information about the incident can call Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 800-530-7151 or submit a tip through the P3 Tips app. All tips are anonymous, and some may lead to monetary rewards.
