STARKVILLE — The Mississippi State baseball will waste no time showing off the completed Duty Noble Field.
The program released its 2019 schedule Thursday, revealing that 15 of the first 18 games are at home. The only three that will be away from home will be in the Frisco College Baseball Classic, a premier non-conference event in which MSU will travel to Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas, the home of the Double-A Frisco Roughriders, for games against Sam Houston State, Texas Tech, and Nebraska.
The season will begin Feb. 15 with a three-game series against Youngstown State. MSU will play host to Alabama-Brmingham on Wednesday, Feb. 20, before completing its home-and-home series with Southern Mississippi with a three-game set beginning Feb. 22. Jackson State and Southeastern Louisiana will visit Dudy Noble Field on Feb. 26 and 27 before the Frisco College Baseball Classic, where MSU will play Sam Houston State on Friday, March 1, Texas Tech on Saturday, March 2, and Nebraska on Sunday, March 3.
East Carolina and Arkansas-Pine Bluff will visit MSU on March 5 and 6 before a three-game series with Maine beginning March 8. The final home game of the non-conference slate is against Grambling on March 13 before Southeastern Conference play begins March 15 with a three-game series at Florida.
A March 19 home game against Little Rock and a March 20 game at Samford separate MSU from its first home action of SEC play, a three-game series against Auburn starting March 22 and the next weekend against LSU starting March 28. MSU will play Mississippi Valley State on Tuesday, March 26. The series against LSU will begin on a Thursday.
MSU will play host to Louisiana-Monroe on April 3 before a three-game series at Tennessee beginning April 5. A home game against South Alabama on Wednesday, April 10, will precede the Super Bulldog Weekend series against Alabama, starting April 12.
Its April 16 game against Texas Southern will be its final home game for more than a week. A weekend series at Arkansas will begin April 18. The Governor’s Cup game in Pearl will be the following Tuesday. MSU will return home April 26 for a three-game series against Georgia before another prolonged road stretch.
MSU will play a three-game series at Texas A&M starting May 2. Its final midweek game of the regular season will be May 8 against Memphis. MSU will play a three-game series at Ole Miss starting May 10.
The season will conclude with a three-game series at home against South Carolina. The SEC tournament will begin May 21 in Hoover, Alabama. The NCAA tournament will begin May 31.
