WEST POINT — Caledonia High School’s Hunter Logan shot a 1-under-par 71 Thursday to win the boys 16- to 18-year-old division (Division A) of the Mississippi Boys and Girls Junior Amateur at Old Waverly Golf Club.
Logan wrapped up his three-day title with a 10-under 206. He also won the Carr Haskins Medalist trophy for his first round low score of 66 (6-under-par).
West Point’s Cohen Trolio won the boys 14-15 age group after firing a 1-under-par 71. He finished with a 2-under 214.
West Point’s Wells Williams won the boys 12-13 age group thanks to a final-round 1-over 73. His 221 edged West Point’s Collins Trolio, who shot a 4-over 76 Thursday and finished at 222.
West Point’s Jacob Blanton also won the boys 10-11 age group after shooting a 10-over 46 in the final round. He finished with a 22-over 130.
In the boys 16-18 age group, West Point’s Cohen Trolio finished tied for second after shooting a 1-under 71. He had a three-day score of 2-under 214.
Hunter Atkins, who completed a standout career at Oak Hill Academy in West Point, tied for 10th following a final-round 83. He finished at 10-over 226.
New Hope High’s Jake Crosson tied for 14th after a final-round 74. He finished at 13-over 229. Heritage Academy’s Moak Griffin tied for 27th. He shot a final-round 79 and finished 21-over.
In the boys 14-15 age group, Caledonia High’s Davis Pool finished tied for 67th.
In Division E (boys 9-and-under), West Point’s George Bryan finished third after a final-round 3-over 39. He finished at 8-over 116. Starkville’s Kaiden Brantley, Canon Mullen, and Bryant Yelverton were sixth, seventh, and eighth, respectively. Brantley’s 11-over Thursday was three shots better than Mullen and Yelverton. Brantley finished at 31-over 139, which was two better than Mullen and three better than Yelverton.
In the girls 13- to 15-year-old age group, Cara Hilburn finished sixth after a final-round 32-over.
In the girls 16-18 division, Caledonia High’s Avery Pool took seventh, while Starkville’s Paige Lemm finished ninth.
In girls Division D, West Point’s Emerson Blair took second. She shot a final-round 4-over 40. She finished at 12-over 120.
In girls Division E, West Point’s Eliza Yelverton and Natalie Blanton tied for second. Blanton shot a 10-over 46, which was four shots better than Yelverton, to forge a tie at 144.
