Former Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace was arrested late Saturday on a charge of driving under the influence.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reported Wallace, who is in his first year as quarterbacks coach at East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, volunteered at a youth football camp earlier in the day Saturday in Tupelo.
The Clarion-Ledger quoted EMCC football coach Buddy Stephens as saying Wallace took prescription medication Saturday and then fell asleep at the wheel while driving home. West Point police arrested him following the accident.
Wallace was booked into the Clay County Detention Center in West Point at 11:06 p.m. Saturday. He was discharged at 1:16 a.m. Sunday after posting $813.50 bond. The West Point Sheriff’s Office website lists the charge against Wallace as a first offense.
Wallace is shirtless with large red marks on his right shoulder in his arrest photo.
Wallace was a three-year starter at Ole Miss. He finished his career second all-time in school history in passing yards (9,534) and passing touchdowns (62). He played one season at EMCC and led the Lions to a national title as a freshman after transferring from Arkansas State.
