SENATOBA — Will Swedenburg scored 18 points Saturday afternoon to lead the Heritage Academy boys basketball team past Magnolia Heights 60-40.
Tyler White scored 15 points for Heritage Academy, which improved to 18-8.
Heritage Academy trailed 15-11 after the first quarter, but rallied to tie the score 21-21 at halftime and take a 44-27 lead at the end of the third period.
n Magnolia Heights 51, Heritage Academy 31 (G): At Senatobia, the Heritage Academy Lady Patriots were outscored in the final three quarters to suffer a loss to Magnolia Heights.
Heritage Academy (11-17) led 9-8 after the first quarter, but was outscored 15-11, 16-7 and 12-4 the final three periods.
The leading scorers for the Lady Patriots were Madison Ford with 12 points and Christibeth Nelson and Bailey Rader with seven points each.
Heritage”s next game is Tuesday at Madison-Ridgeland Academy.
n Heritage Academy 60, Lee Academy 37 (B): Hunter Brown scored 12 points and Justin Frye scored 11 to lead the Heritage Academy Patriots past Lee Academy on Friday.
n Heritage Academy 54, Lee Academy 40 (G): Madison Ford scored 18 points and Christibeth Nelson scored 17 to lead the Heritage Academy Lady Patriots to a victory.
n Immanuel Christian 64, North River Christian 32 (G): At Northport, Ala., the Immanuel Lady Rams started to pull away in the second quarter en route to beating North River Christian on Saturday.
Immanuel outscored North River 24-10 in the second quarter and 12-9 in the third after the score was tied 7-7 at the end of the first period. The Lady Rams then polished off the win by outscoring their opponent 21-6 in the fourth.
Immanuel (16-11) was led by Nyki Baudoin with 15 points, 11 rebounds and five steals, Taylor Baudoin with 14 points, 18 rebounds, seven steals and four assists, Bailey Edwards with 11 points and seven rebounds, and Katy-Whitten Davidson with eight points and 10 rebounds.
Immanuel”s next game is against Calhoun Academy on Thursday in the MAIS Class A, District 3 Tournament at Winona.
n Central Academy 43, Immanuel Christian 34 (JVG): At Winona, Blake Rigdon and Lane Reed each scored 16 points each to lead the Central Academy Lady Vikings past the Immanuel Lady Rams in the championship game of the MAIS Class A, District 3 Tournament on Friday.
The score was tied 6-6 at the end of the first quarter before Central outscored Immanuel 16-9 in the second and 14-9 in the third to build a 36-24 lead. The Lady Rams outscored the Lady Vikings 10-7 in the fourth.
Immanuel was led by Taylor Baudoin with 12 points, four steals and four assists, Kaitlyn Shreiner with nine points and Bailey Studdard with four points and nine rebounds.
Immanuel finished the season with a 22-4 record for its best record 2000-01.
n Pickens Academy 73, Patrician Academy 44 (B): At Butler, Ala., Jacob Acker poured in a game-high 31 points and Michael Potts scored 16 to lead the Pickens Academy Pirates past Patrician Academy in an AISA Class 2A, Region 3 game Friday.
Acker also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out nine assists for Pickens Academy (15-8, 7-5 region), which won for the eighth time in nine games.
Pickens Academy outscored Patrician 19-9, 23-14 and 25-12 the first three quarters en route to the win.
n Pickens Academy 49, Patrician Academy 44 (G): At Butler, Ala., the Pickens Academy Lady Pirates rallied in the fourth quarter to beat Patrician Academy in a AISA Class 2A, Region 3 game.
Pickens Academy (22-3, 12-0 region) finished undefeated in the region as it outscored Patrician Academy 21-12 in the fourth quarter. The Lady Pirates trailed 14-13, 20-18 and 32-28 at the quarter breaks.
Lincoln Pearson scored all nine of her points in the fourth quarter to help Pickens Academy rally for the victory.
The Lady Pirates were led by Callie Minor with 18 points and 14 rebounds, Elisabeth Hankins with 12 points and Catherine Johnson with nine points, seven rebound, seven assists and six steals.
Pickens Academy prevailed despite Minor and Johnson fouling out in the fourth quartter.
Pickens Academy”s next action is Monday at Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Academy.
n Pickens County 54, Aliceville 41 (G): At Reform, Ala., Miriah Gooden scored a game-high 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Pickens County Lady Tornadoes past the Aliceville Lady Yellow Jackets on Friday.
Maryauna Sterling scored 12 points and Kelsey Stewart had nine points, 14 rebounds, five assists, three steals and three blocks shots for Pickens County (12-6).
Aliceville was led by LaGorgeous Showers with 15 points, Harriett Washington with 13 and Dana Henderson 10.
