STARKVILLE — A home slate that features 24-straight games to open the season and Southeastern Conference stands against Alabama, LSU, South Carolina, and Florida highlights the Mississippi State baseball team’s 2015 schedule, which was announced Wednesday morning.
MSU’s 125th season will feature 56 games, including 37 home games, 17 road games, and two games at Trustmark Park in Pearl.
“It is a very challenging schedule, as always, and one we’re certainly excited about,” MSU coach John Cohen said. “With our 15 home games inside the nation’s toughest conference, along with a demanding 24-game homestand to open the season, we feel we have provided the very best season ticket opportunity for the greatest fans in college baseball.”
MSU’s non-conference schedule includes two games against 2012 national champion Arizona on Feb. 27-28 in Starkville.
MSU will open the season Friday, Feb. 13, at home against Cincinnati. The season-opening homestand will include 24 games in 33 days at Dudy Noble Field. The homestand also will include games against Miami University, Mississippi Valley State, Marshall, Alabama A&M, Alcorn State, Samford, Arkansas Pine-Bluff, San Diego, and Western Kentucky.
MSU’s first road game will be March 20 against SEC foe Kentucky.
MSU’s home SEC schedule will feature games against Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, LSU, and Florida. MSU’s road SEC schedule includes trips to Kentucky, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Tennessee.
