FULTON — Itawamba Community College women’s basketball All-American Jameika Hoskins fulfilled a dream of playing Division I basketball Wednesday when she signed with Southeastern Louisiana in the media room at the Davis Event Center.
“This is an amazing feeling,” said Hoskins, who was a two-time All-State selection at ICC. “I’ve always wanted to play division one college basketball, and these last two years at ICC put me in position to sign this scholarship with Southeastern Louisiana.”
Hoskins, a 5-foot-10 guard from Aberdeen High School, averaged 15 points and 10.3 rebounds per game to help lead the Lady Indians (26-3) capture the North Division and MACJC State tournament championships, and earn a runner-up finish in the Region 23 tournament.
“Jameika Hoskins is not only an All-American basketball player, she’s an All-American person,” ICC coach Nanci Gray said. “The coaches at Southeastern are thrilled to bring someone into their program like Jameika who truly has the complete package on and off the court.”
