The Starkville Quarterback Club will hold its second meeting of the year at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Starkville Country Club.
The social hour will begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
Sid Salter, renowned syndicated newspaper columnist, who is Journalist-in-Residence at the Mississippi State University libraries, will be the featured speaker.
“Salter has written the authorized biography of long-time ”Voice of the Bulldogs” Jack Cristil,” Starkville QB Club President Brent Deweese said. “We expect Mr. Salter will share some never-heard-before stories about MSU”s legendary sports announcer.”
Les Koenning, MSU”s offensive coordinator/QB coach, will provide a scouting report on the Auburn Tigers, MSU”s opponent at 11:21 a.m. Saturday in Auburn, Ala. (WCBI).
Buffalo Wild Wings of Starkville is sponsoring this week”s featured speaker. The dinner for the evening will be hamburger steak, scalloped potatoes, lima beans, salad bar, rolls, dessert, and tea.
“We had a record attendance at our first meeting, and after Thursday”s win over the Memphis Tigers, we anticipate another large crowd at this week”s meeting,” Deweese said.
It isn”t too late to join the club. Dues are $125 for the season. For an additional $60, members are provided a meal at each meeting that includes a meat (a weekly rotation of fried catfish filets, fried chicken, hamburger steaks, and pork chops), two vegetables, salad, bread, drink, and dessert.
