OXFORD — Newcomers to the University of Mississippi football team will report Thursday and varsity players will report to campus Friday.
Rebel fans will have the opportunity to watch the team Saturday through Aug. 13. The first seven practices will begin at 4:30 p.m., while the time of the Aug. 13 workout will be announced at a later date.
Use of cellular phones and cameras are prohibited for fans at practice, and fans must remain in the designated area. When the team practices outdoors, fans aren”t allowed between the practice fields.
Rebel Football Media Day will be held Monday, and OleMissSports.com will have exclusive coverage of the activities. RebelVision will stream Coach Houston Nutt”s press conference live at 9 a.m.
The fans will have their opportunity to visit with the team Aug. 20 as part of Meet the Rebels Day festivities. The annual event, which is hosted by the UMAA Foundation, begins with lunch at noon and features food, merchandise, and autograph opportunities with players and coaches.
Among the items for sale will be the 2011 media guide, which recently hit bookshelves. The 208-page publication contains rosters, bios, statistics on all the returning stars and incoming signees, and a preview of the season.
