Columbus” Magnolia Motor Speedway will play host to the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series on Memorial Day Weekend.
The event will feature a $5,000-to-win, $300-to-start Super Late Model main event on Sunday.
It will mark the series first trip to the Johnny Stokes” promoted facility since 2008, and will boast a total purse of $20,000. It is expected to draw cars and fans from several states for the 50-lap affair that will pit local, regional, and nationally recognized stars together on the 1/3 mile clay oval.
Drivers expected to appear include: series contenders William Thomas, of Phenix City, Ala.; Billy Ogle Jr., of Knoxville, Tenn.; Tommy Kerr, of Maryville, Tenn.; David Payne, of Murphy, N.C.; Todd Morrow, of East Ridge, Tenn.; Skip Arp, of Georgetown, Tenn.; Riley Hickman, of Cleveland, Tenn.; Tony Knowles, of Tyrone, Ga.; Brian Reece, of Sharpsburg, Ga.; Kayne Hickman, of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; and Dwayne Treadwell, of Hogansville, Ga.
They will battle local favorites like Chase Washington, Jamie Tollison, Charlie Henderson, Steve Russell, Johnny Stokes, Rick and Brian Rickman, Wade Byers, Bubba Franks, and many others.
The undercard will feature Nesmith Crate Late Model, Street Stock, and Mini Stock divisions battling for bragging rights.
Pit gates will open at 3 p.m., with grandstands opening at 5 p.m. There will be a drivers” meeting at 6:30 p.m., with hot laps to follow.
Adult general admission will be $20. Pit admission will be $30.
