Columbus police arrested a teenager after he allegedly stole his neighbors’ motorcycle and crashed it a few streets over.
Donyaa Nikeeal Ervin, 18, of 300 S. Lehmberg Road, has been charged with one count of felony taking of a motor vehicle, according to a press release from Columbus Police Department. Ervin reportedly took his neighbors’ 2013 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle from near his home on Lehmberg Road on Sept. 27.
The same day he stole it, he wrecked it on Beech Street, totaling the motorcycle.
Police arrested Ervin Tuesday. He was denied bond because of a previous felony charge. In January, Ervin was arrested for armed robbery and burglary of a dwelling after he and another teenager allegedly entered a Lyford Drive home, threatened the resident with a gun and a knife and left with $40 and some electronics.
