Jerry’s Music in Columbus has moved a few doors down on Hwy. 45.
Previously located at 2006 Hwy. 45. N., the local music store has relocated to the former home of Northside Package Store at 2000 Hwy. 45 N. In addition to musical equipment, Jerry’s offers music lessons and systems checks. The store also sells used equipment and accepts trade-ins.
The shop is open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
The building at Jerry’s former location is now available for rent.
Construction on the Academy Sports and Outdoors location on Starkville’s Highway 12 is wrapping up with plans to open the store in late spring.
Academy carries outdoor sports and activities equipment alongside a selection of local sports teams apparel. Representatives with the company estimate the new store will bring 100 jobs to the Starkville area. Prior to this location’s opening, the nearest Academy Sports and Outdoors is in Tupelo. This will be the company’s sixth store located in Mississippi.
The store’s hours will be from 8 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 9:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Sundays.
G.O. Finance, LLC, held a grand opening on April 6. G.O. is a new finance company that opened in West Point in 2016. The company’s home office is in Meridian.
The office, located at 6197 Hwy. 45 Alt. S., is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and accepts applications over the phone at 662-605-5200.
