Applications for board member positions for the Starkville Community Market are now available at the Greater Starkville Development Partnership.
The new board will oversee the operations of the market under Special Events and Projects Coordinator Jennifer Prather, who will act as market manager.
Deadline for applications is Feb. 4 at 5 p.m.
Board members will be chosen by the Main Street Association Board, and the member chosen to act as Starkville Community Market Board President will automatically become a voting member on the Main Street board.
Prather said applicants do not necessarily have to live in Starkville or Oktibbeha County, but a job in the area would be preferred in that event. All applicants should have a strong interest in the market and its growth.
"We are looking for a very diverse board, there are no specific age or occupation requirements, but we want people related to Starkville somehow," she said. "We want to match the diversity of the market and the community."
The board will have eight to 12 members.
