Kimberly Kidder of Curtis Optometry in Columbus has been named Paraoptometric of the Year by the Mississippi Optometric Association. MOA presents the award annually to recognize significant contributions to the profession of optometry, paraoptometry, and the general public.
The winner was announced at the MOA's Annual Fall Conference and Vision Exposition, held Oct. 31 to Nov. 3 in Jackson. Kidder will now be nominated for the American Optometric Association's Paraoptometric of the Year award and the Southeastern Council of Optometrists' Paraoptometric of the South award.
Kidder has 10 years of experience in the optometric field and is a Certified Paraoptometric Assistant. She also has achieved certification from the American Board of Opticianry. Basic Orthoptic and Refractometry Techniques certification, and CPR certified.
Since 2010, she has been employed as an optometric technician at Curtis Optometry in Columbus with Dr. David Curtis, Dr. Susanne Cunningham and Dr. John Nail.
