Some area high school football players and teams had standout games Friday night.
**Behind three rushing touchdowns from Aeris Williams, West Point improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in Region 1-5A play with a 49-14 win at Hernando.
**Quarterback Gabe Myles rushed for 89 yards, passed for 98 yards and scored two touchdowns Starkville improved to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in Region 2-5A play with a 23-6 win at Provine.
**Noxubee County notched its fourth straight shutout with a 29-0 Region 4-4A home win over Kosciusko. Darrell Robinson had two rushing touchdowns and a receiving touchdown for the Tigers (7-0 overall, 2-0 region).
**West Oktibbeha quarterback Von Smith threw for 219 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 41 yards and two more scores in the Timberwolves' 46-24 Region 3-1A win over Sebastopol. West Oktibbeha (5-1, 3-0) also received 204 rushing yards from Tiberias Lampkin, pushing him past 1,000 yards for the season.
**Pickens County running back Jermarcus Brown rambled for 188 yards and a touchdown as the unbeaten Tornadoes (5-0) won the highly-anticipated showdown with Aliceville, 35-14.
**Columbus quarterback Trace Lee threw for 203 yards and one touchdown but it was not enough as the Falcons (4-2, 1-1) fell in Region 1-6A play - dropping a 17-7 decision to Southaven at home.
