Some little-known laws
According to my information, there are a couple of little-known laws that most people, including police officers apparently, don’t know. How many times have you pulled into a convenience store and seen a car with the radio blaring rap “music,” engine running, and nobody in it? It is illegal to leave a car unattended with the engine running. How many times have you seen a not-obviously-handicapped person park in a spot reserved for handicapped people? Of course, here in Brooksville it is a common happening, but a MHP officer told me it was a suspension of your driver’s license for six months when you violate handicapped parking laws. The recent event where someone drove an SUV through a restaurant window would not have happened if the driver had turned the engine off. My car won’t turn off unless the transmission is in park!
