Appreciates article
I just wanted to say thank-you for the May 9, 2015, article Slim Smith wrote regarding my family’s advocacy to obtain a railroad crossing on Beersheba Road in New Hope. It took a while but the railroad crossing is now being installed on Beersheba Road.
Sadly, my father passed away in January of 2016. I continued to call MDOT periodically after his death, and they promised the crossing was coming. We were informed on Father’s Day this year that they were starting on the crossing.
I am also sending a thank-you to Melinda McGrath, executive director of MDOT, for her assistance in getting the crossing.
The Lumsden family wishes to thank The Dispatch from the bottom of our hearts for your willingness to write and publish this article which really highlighted our cause and was influential in getting the crossing installed.
