Allegations in letter deserve investigation
Bob Raymond’s letter to the editor was quite the interesting “read” today.
What will be even more interesting in the days to come (note, that I said “days” rather than weeks or months) since this occurrence may have had an effect on one or more of the office seekers. I will be looking for reactions in your paper from, not in any order, the election commissioners, the local circuit clerk’s office, whoever was in charge of the elections, the Secretary of State himself — not a subordinate since the buck obviously stops with him — why his subordinate failed to keep her word, etc. All of these, and, of course, The Commercial Dispatch has an obligation to its readers to keep us abreast and aware of what is going on in the potential abuse of the absentee ballots.
Respectfully,
Gary L. Holtman
