The values of yesteryear
Let’s see if I have this straight. Black lawmakers question Sen. Jeff Sessions’ fitness to be the USAG, but they never uttered a peep when Loretta Lynch or Eric Holder were violating their oaths of office?
They ignored laws to make things better for certain people, as much as they could anyway. That’s being unfit to be AG.
If they’re going to hold anything in Sen. Session’s past against him, real or imagined, then I guess they would have not followed Paul (aka Saul) when he saw the light and stopped persecuting Christians.
Leonard Pitts really needs to listen to himself some. He has never found fault with anything Obama ever did, and cannot find anything BUT fault with President-elect Trump, even though Trump has yet to do anything official.
Waverley mansion vandalized? When the culprits are caught, no matter their age or gender or position in society, they seriously need the board of education (a piece of pine will do nicely) applied to the seat of knowledge, and the paddling shouldn’t stop until the deserving butt can no longer feel the pain or blood flows like a river. If these punks got more discipline at home they wouldn’t be misbehaving in public like this. …
Neighborhood watch groups are a good idea. Just be careful you don’t get into an altercation with somebody who fits the profile of a criminal or you may get sued, or worse, find yourselves charged with a crime.
Trump’s picks for nomination to various positions have been criticized for not being “inclusive” enough. Most are rich old white men. Well, look where confirming lap dogs got us. We need experienced people to run various agencies or be cabinet members.
Armed robberies and shooting into occupied dwellings show a complete lack of regard for the safety and property of others. It wasn’t that long ago that nobody would have thought of shooting a house where people were inside, unless it was the KKK intimidating a black person. Making these cowards equal to the KKK of yesterday ought to rile somebody enough to inform on the culprit. Let’s hope so anyway. Call a spade a spade no matter what color the handle is.
We need to return to the values of yesteryear. Failure to do so has gotten us the mess we currently deplore.
