Trump election represents opposite of column’s assertions
Re: Slim Smith’s column, “The Dawn of American Fascism?” The entire article reminds me of a famous quote by Ronald Reagan. “It’s not that liberals are ignorant. It’s just that they know so much that isn’t true!” Let us first look at Adolf Hitler versus Trump.
Both were raised by hard-working business owners. DJT chose to take a loan from father and build his own empire. Adolf Hitler, never having accomplished anything, decided to take over a party by rhetoric and then a country by force. The first seems like the better life-choice.
The Democratic Party with its gun control, federal control of schools, propagandized public opinion over personal liberty, along with the compartmentalization of the Christian faith, is far more akin to the Nazi party than Trump and we deplorables. The Democratic Party wants to indoctrinate our youth through government advertisements and policies forced upon our educators with the tag line “…or lose your funding.” Based on the voting of the 18-25 year olds, I’d say they’re doing a great job.
Rather than the dawn of American fascism, this election represents a temporary halt of American fascism as it is the Democrats who propose a benevolent monarchy where the president takes from those mean rich people (aka hard workers) and gives to the poor. They want to present themselves as modern-day Robin Hoods while, in fact, they get richer and the poor get poorer under their tutelage. In fact, the election reminds me of Benjamin Franklin’s reply to the question, “Well, Dr. Franklin, what have we got — a Republic or a Monarchy?” to which he replied, “A republic, if you can keep it.”
We, the working class, must do just that — work to bring the US back to her position as leader of the free world. President-elect Trump must have the good sense to surround himself with experts in several areas outside his expertise that he might lead in wisdom. His choice of VP seems to say he has that good sense. Finally, we Christians better prepare for, pray for, preach towards and otherwise pursue a revival of true repentance, faith in Christ and the Word of GOD — whilst we have the liberty to do so.
