‘Heartbreaking and confusing’
My brother, James Edward Hardy, was gay. He died of AIDS more than 20 years ago. His dying wish was that his family return to Mississippi for a visit.
He loved Mississippi for its beauty both of the land and of the people.
I would give anything to have him alive again and celebrating a wedding with some wonderful partner.
Mississippians are more charitable than many other states and we show concern for others in many ways. I find it heartbreaking and confusing that a state this giving can pass legislation as mean spirited as HB 1523. And, I hope that the wonderful state of Mississippi will overturn this legislation rapidly.
