We, the people …
I have just read Cameron Triplett’s letter (July 11, 2015) I am very much in agreement with him. If Bennie Thompson does not wish to represent this state and its flag, there is no hook in his backside forcing him to come back to Mississippi, or to do his so-called representing of the great state.
As for the president of Mississippi State, Mark Keenum, he’s letting his political correctness get in the way of what should be his principles.
He makes an issue of the MSU Faculty Senate voting on Feb. 9, 2001, to do away with the current flag in favor of a proposed replacement. This was, of course, some two months prior to the time that we, the people voted to keep our flag. The very fact that he raised the issue again indicates he does not regard the rights of we, the people very highly. And, does the average Mississippian care at all if the NCAA never allows another NCAA sanctioned championship event to be held there? If you care, let it be known, but, be sure you sign your name rather than hiding behind aliases.
