It is very exciting that the presidential primary in Mississippi is important this year. Because the nomination has yet to be decided, we have an opportunity to help elect the next Republican nominee. Mississippi citizens should take this very seriously.
I believe that Gov. Mitt Romney is the right man to lead our country. Gov. Romney has been a leader in every aspect of his life. He created, saved, and re-vamped hundreds of businesses during his career in the private sector. Using his business acumen, he took over the Olympics and was able to turn a potential disaster into a showcase that illustrated the greatness of America.
We are desperate for a president that understands how business works and America’s business is our business. Governor Romney was a conservative governor. He took over liberal Massachusetts when it was deeply in debt and left it with a $2 billion rainy-day fund in just four years. He did that by standing strong against a “spend-it-all” liberal legislature.
He cut spending and he cut taxes. Gov. Romney vetoed hundreds of bills that the legislature tried to force him to sign. This is the kind of leadership we need in Washington today. Mitt Romney will break up the gridlock and the political games that consume Washington. He can point out how President Obama’s $4 trillion debt is killing America.
How President Obama’s class warfare is turning groups of people against each other. How President Obama’s one campaign promise, high gasoline prices, is killing our economy. We need someone that can create jobs and encourage economic growth and stability. Mitt Romney is that person. We must elect a nominee that can win the election in November. Mitt Romney can beat President Obama and to me, that is the most important quality a candidate can have.
