I would like a Rose to The Dispatch for featuring the Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7 story. If I am correct, there was only brief mention of this historic event in last year’s paper. My father left for the Pacific when I was 2 weeks old and did not return until I was 4. He was an Army doctor attached to the Marines and went on horrendous beach landings and then was in occupied Japan after the war. He missed my early childhood, but he did come home when many others did not. We must NEVER forget. This could happen again in a heartbeat as we saw with 9/11. Bless those who serve our country.
