WEST POINT — Margaret Betts Carter, 91, died Dec. 6, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Funderburg officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the funeral home Calvert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Carter was born April 6, 1921, in West Point, to the late Burkett Warren and Mary Emma Vail Betts Sr. She was a graduate of West Point High School and attended Moodie Business School. She was formerly employed as a service assistant with Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company and was a member of First Baptist Church in West Point. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Carter Jr.; and brother, B.W. Betts Jr. Pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church.
