MACON — Hazel Irene Jones Lipscomb, 96, died Dec. 5, 2018, at her residence. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harmony Baptist Church in Louisville. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Cockrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Lipscomb was born June 14, 1922, to the late Joseph Bew and Verna McCool Jones. She was a 1941 graduate of Noxubee County Agricultural High School and was formerly employed as a secretary with First Baptist Church in Louisville and with the Baptist Convention Board Church Training Department. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Parkway Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Paul of Colleyville, Texas; daughters, Judy of Clinton and Linda of Abingdon, Virgina; sisters, Mavis Barlow and Syble Miles of Florence and Mary Ezelle of Tyler, Texas; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, 320 Harmony Baptist Church Road, Louisville, MS 39339.
