HAMILTON — J. B. Carter, 89, died Nov. 5, 2018, at his residence. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Wilson officiating. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Hulaco, Alabama. Visitation will be two hours prior to services Wednesday at the funeral the funeral home. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Carter was born Jan. 12, 1929, in Highmond, Alabama, to th elate Robert Sylvester Carter and Leta Hill Carter. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served in Korea and Vietnam. He was formerly employed with Woodman of the World and was a member of Hamilton Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Ford. He is survived by his wife, Mary DuBose Carter; daughter, Glenda Owen of Bells, Texas; sons, Phillip Carter of Savoy, Texas; Jerome Carter and Timothy Carter, both of Becker; sister, Faye Tessman of Joppa, Alabama; brothers, Robert Carter and Clyde Carter, both of Joppa; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be his family. Memorials may be made to Hamilton Church of Christ, 40081 Hamilton Road, Hamilton, MS 39746 or to the Magnolia Messenger, P.O. Box 1578, Kosciusko, MS 39090.
