STARKVILLE ó Jerry Clifton Hunt, 90, died Nov. 5, 2018, in Starkville. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with Chip Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Park. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Welch Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Welch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hunt was born in Choctaw County, to the late Sherman Eldon and Mary Busby Hunt. He was a graduate of Jones Junior College and was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War. He was formerly owner, operator, jeweler and watchmaker of Huntís Jewelry in the Southdale Shopping Center and co-owner of West Point Jewelry. He was also self-employed as a carpenter and a member of First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kent Gordon Hunt; sister, Genece Hunt Nowell; and brothers, Eldon Duain Hunt and James William Hunt. He is survived by his wife, Audie Hunt; son, Mark Clifton Hunt of Starkville; brother, George Boyd Hunt of West Point; and three grandchildren. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 106 E. Lampkin St., Starkville, MS 39759.
