VERNON, Ala. — Linda Cowart Newman, 62, died Nov. 2, 2018. Celebration of Life services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Chandler Funeral Home with Terry McAdams, Seaphues Dailey and David Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the funeral home. Chandler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Newman was born Sept. 28, 1956, in Aberdeen, to Thomas and Audean Rasberry Cowart. She was formerly employed as a teacher at Millport Elementary and Vernon Elementary Schools. She was a member of the Alabama Education Retiree Association of Lamar County and Nebo United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, David Max Newman; son, Lee Newman; daughter, Leah Kendrick; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Lynn Jordan, Mike Daffron, Terry Stapp, Larry Northam, Zane Shackleford, Beech Hankins, J.D. Trull and Mike Stallings.
