Willie “Bill” Perkins, 93, died July 5, 2018, in Columbus. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Ary M.B. Church with the Rev. Erick Logan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from noon-6 p.m. Thursday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Perkins was born June 26, 1925, in Columbus, to the late Marcellous Gregory and Irene Perkins. He was formerly employed as a truck driver with Columbus Marble Works. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Perkins; son, Willie Perkins Jr; and siblings, Odessa Perkins, Leno, Calvin and Jack Perkins. He is survived by his daughter, Earlene Saffore of St. Louis, Missouri; sister, Beatrice Hudson of St. Louis, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John Gholston, James Gholston, Raymond Gholston, Darion Gholston, Mason Hawkins and his nephews.
