PHEBA — Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Cox, 61, died May 13, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Rhodes and Rev. Scott Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in Maben. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Cox was born Feb. 7, 1957, in Odessa, Texas, to the late John B. and Gertrude Peace Cox. He was self-employed as a rebar detailing steel engineer and formerly employed as a truck driver with Johnson Timber Company. He attended Hope Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Brown Cox of Pheba; daughter, Melody Kim Cox of Odessa; stepsons, Morris Taylor Ervin and Kelly Brown Ervin, both of Starkville and Rocky Stults of Dallas, Texas; sister, Carolyn Cox of Delta, Colorado; brothers, Tom Cox of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Gerald Cox of Odessa; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Rodney Johnson, Robert Washington, Joby Washington, Joseph Johnson, Michael Patterson and Bobby Champion. Memorials may be made the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Attn: Liver Transplant Unit, 2500 N. State St., Jackson, MS 39216 or to the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice, 812 Garfield Street, Tupelo, MS 38801.
