VERNON, Ala. — Bryan Butler, 80, died April 13, 2018, at Generations of Vernon. Services are 4 p.m. today at Fellowship Baptist Church with military honors and Chris Hunnicutt and Charles Ballew officiating. Burial to follow at the adjoining cemetery. Visitation is today from 2 p.m. until service time at the church. Bryan was born Oct. 7, 1937, in Vernon to the late Noah Franklin Butler and Artie M. Thomas. He attended Lamar County High School and retired from the Alabama Army National Guard. He was formerly employed as a truck driver with SanTran Trucking Company. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #389 in Vernon and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. In addition his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Ronnie Butler; sister, Imogene Butler; brothers, Cedell Richardson, Bernice Butler, Berks Butler and Walton Butler He is survived by his wife, Ruth Butler of Vernon; daughter, Sandra Butler Tidwell of Vernon; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Bradley Joe Harrison, Michael Keith Butler, David Butler, Hubert Butler, Jerry Robertson, Chris Robertson, Allen Miller, Dan Todd, Eddie Gordon, Dempsey Hatcher and Bobby Richardson.
