BEAVERTON, Ala. — William Eugene Ruby, 65, died April 10, 2018, at DCH Noland Hospital-Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Services are 7 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2018, at Otts Funeral Home chapel in Sulligent, Alabama, with Gerald Gann officiating. Visitation is Friday, April 20, 2018, from 5:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. William was born Aug. 24, 1952, in Geneseo, Illinois, to the late Fred Ruby and Bonnie Threlkeld. He served in the U.S. Army and previously worked in the railroad field. He attended Lost John Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Doris Ruby; brother, Freddie Ruby; and stepbrother, Jerry Cook. He is survived by his wife, Karen Ruby of Beaverton, Alabama; sons, Scott Ruby, Steven Ruby and Marcus Ruby, all of Janesville, Wisconsin; stepson, Desmond Spencer of Beaverton, Alabama; brothers, Fred Ivan Ruby of Florida, Mark Ruby of Arizona, Tom Ruby of Tennessee, Ronnie Ruby of Vernon, Alabama, Rodney Ruby of Sulligent, Denny Ruby of Kennedy, Alabama; sisters, Rose Blaylock of Milan, Illinois, and Asha Coleman of Sulligent; and seven grandchildren.
