WEST POINT — Raymond E. “Pete” Linley, 79, died Feb. 12, 2018, at his residence. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kirk Chapman officiating and assisted by Larry Reese. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Linely was born in Marion County, Alabama on Feb. 7, 1939, to the late Wiley Anderson and Evie Burlesson Linley. He was formerly employed as a welder for CECO in Columbus and a member of the Church of God in Refuge. He was a member of the Barton Ferry Hunting Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Kendricks Linley; daughter, Pat Norton; and sisters, Nila Davis and Vivle Linley. He is survived by his daughters, Gayle Jenkins and Linda Brisbine both of West Point; sons, Zackary Doster of West Point, James A. “Smokey” Doster of Grenada and Wayne Doster of West Point; and sister, Nellie Mays of West Point. Pallbearers will be Wayne Doster, Shannon Doster, Lee Keenum, Tommy Henley, Tucker Henley and Wesley Jenkins.
