SULLIGENT, Ala. — Shelia Kell Northington, 62, died Feb. 7, 2018, at her residence. Services were at 2 p.m. Friday at Otts Funeral Home Chapel with B.J. Mills officiating. Burial followed in Wofford Cemetery. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Otts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Ms. Northington was born Oct. 11, 1955, in Marion County, Alabama, to the late Ervin Kell and Ruby Merchant. She attended Sulligent schools and was formerly employed with McCoy Manufacturing. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and attended Union Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Johny Billy Kell, Jimmy Kell and Jackie Kell and sisters, Elwanda Kell and Judy Gann. She is survived by her son, Derrick Northington of Detroit; daughter, Brandy Northington of Sulligent; sisters, Mary Lou Pennington and Sandy Taylor, both of Sulligent, and Linda Galloway of Vernon; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Wayne Merchant, Phil Johnson, Robert Lynn Gann, Tony Smith, Jeremy Kell and Steve Weeks.
