KOSCIUSKO — Staff Sgt. Johnny William Lashley, 71, died Dec. 4, 2017, at MS State Veterans Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus with Rev. Randy Randle officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul MB Church Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Carter’s Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements. Staff Sgt. Lashley was born Mar. 8, 1946, in Columbus, to the late William Lashley and Ethel Lashley Wilson. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed as an airplane mechanic. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Lashley. He is survived by his children, Cornell Lashley of Little Rock, Arkansas, Victor Summerville of Olive Branch, Tony Lashley and Enia Lashley, both of Louisville, Kentucky, Vanessa Lashley of Charlotte, North Carolina, Teondra Lashley of Manchester, Georgia and Keontae Lashley of Columbus; siblings, Virginia Aaron, Johnny Will Lashley, Floyd Lashley, Lloyd Lashley, William Lashley, Jr. and Rose Pratt, all of Columbus, Mary J. Claiborn of Birmingham, Alabama and Freddie Lee Davis of Hastings, Florida; step-siblings, Jimi Dean Mosley, Joe Lash and Johnny James Swanigan, all of Columbus, Elijah Lash of Holly Springs and Willie Harris of Yakima, Washington; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
