June Lair

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — June Carolyn Alexander Lair, 85, died June 10, 2017, at her residence. A celebration of life service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Birmingham with the Rev. Keith Thompson officiating. Graveside service will be held later in Fayette, Alabama. Johnson Ridouts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Lair was born on Jan. 20, 1932, to the late Elmer S. and Vista Lydia Patterson Alexander. She graduated from the University of Alabama’s School of Chemistry and earned her certification from University Hospital. She was formerly employed with the blood bank at UAB Hospital, as well as other hospitals in Birmingham. She was a member of the American Association of Blood Banks and the National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century. In addition to her parents, she was preceded death by her husband, John Henry Lair Jr.; and son, Robert Samuel Lair. She is survived by her children, Patricia, John, Susan and James; stepdaughter, Carolyn Newhouse; and 10 grandchildren.
