ABERDEEN — Lois Cecil Rye, 94, died Mar. 23, 2017, at his residence. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with Allen Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Oddfellows Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Rye was born Nov. 4, 1922, in Sulligent, to William Largus Rye and Lannie Mae Markham. He was a WWII Veteran and served in the Philippines. He was formerly employed as a carpenter for Bradley Lumber Company and later became a partner of Rye and Martin Construction Company. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Gordon Rye; brother, Hoyt Rye; and two grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Houck of Ferriday, Louisiana and Sherron Martin of Aberdeen; son, Danny Rye of Salisbury, North Carolina; two sisters, Joann Strain of Pontotoc and Dorothy Warren of Barnesville, Georgia; brother, Jerry Rye of Alachua, Florida; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers are his grandsons and great-grandsons.
