STARKVILLE — Julia Willetta (Braddock) Swoope, 81, died March 18, 2017, at North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Welch Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Ripley. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the funeral home. Mrs. Swoope was a graduate of Falkner High School and attended Mississippi State College for Women and Mississippi State University. She was previously employed as assistant home economist in Attala County and home economics teacher in McAdams, Kosciusko and Starkville. She was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, Delta Kappa Gamma and Phi Kappa Phi. She was preceded in death by her parents, W. Vance Braddock and Leone Horton Braddock; and brother, Danny Horton Braddock. She is survived by her husband, William Swoope of Starkville; son, Alan Swoope of Yazoo City; sisters, Linda Jo Smith and Ann Wigington; and four grandchildren.
