CEDAR BLUFF — Elizabeth Davis Edwards, 96, died Mar. 16, 2017, at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point. Services are at 2 p.m. today at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Payton Myers and Rev. Doran Henry officiating. Burial will follow in Cairo Cemetery in Cedar Bluff. Visitation will be two hours prior to services. Calvert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Edwards was born Sept. 2, 1920, Clay County, to the late Thomas Jefferson and Estelle Gordon Davis. She was formerly employed at Babcock and Wilcox for 28 years as a secretary and a member of Siloam Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Marion “Shine” Edwards; sister, Martha D. Clarke; and brothers, Thomas A. Davis, Gordon Davis , Clayton Davis and Thad Davis. She is survived by her sons, Ben T. Edwards of Cedar Bluff and Marion D. Edwards of West Point; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Leroy Atkins, Billy Young, George Watson, Wayne “Pee Wee” Wray, Ubes May, Tim Ray, Matt Ray and John Edwards. Memorials may be made to Cairo Cemetery Fund, c/o Judy Chrismond, 23225 Hwy 50 West, West Point, MS 39773.
