Judges Jim Kitchens and Lee Howard handed out sentences to more than a half-dozen defendants Wednesday in Oktibbeha County Circuit Court.
- Howard sentenced Virgil Kirby, deemed an habitual offender, to five years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections without the possibility of parole for possession of a stolen firearm. Kirby also must pay a $10,000 fine.
- Kitchens sentenced Christi Jo Harvey to eight years in the MDOC, with five years suspended, for possession of methamphetamine. Harvey also faces five years of post-release supervision.
- Howard sentenced Keith Spivey to three years in the MDOC for driving under the influence, third offense. Spivey also faces two years of post-release supervision and must pay a $2,000 fine.
- Kitchens sentenced Nathan Holloway to one year of house arrest and four years of probation for grand larceny. If Holloway doesn”t complete the house arrest program successfully, he faces five years in the MDOC.
- Howard sentenced Jennifer Leavitt to three years in the MDOC for violating the terms of her post-release supervision on a previous possession of cocaine conviction.
- Kitchens did not accept the guilty plea of John Breckenridge for one count of grand larceny and instead gave Breckenridge five years of probation and a $1,000 fine.
- Howard sentenced Jamie Tucker to two years in the MDOC for violating the terms of her post-release supervision on a previous burglary of a business conviction.
- Kitchens sentenced Willie Hogan to five years in the MDOC for violating the terms of his suspended sentence on a previous fraud by computer conviction.
- Kitchens sentenced Glen Buchanan to two years in the MDOC for violating the terms of his post-release supervision on a previous DUI, third offense conviction.
- Arnika Nichols pleaded guilty to one count of sale or transfer of Hydrocodone, one count of child endangerment and one count of sale of cocaine.
