A man who robbed the Jumbo Jr.”s convenience store in the Leigh Mall Chevron early today knew the store”s money-handling procedures, according to police.
The robber, who did not use a weapon, took a money bag from the store clerk just before 7 a.m. today and fled the scene, possibly in a silver Nissan Maxima, north on Highway 45.
The man was described by police as black, wearing a work jacket over a black hooded jacket and black pants.
No one was hurt in the robbery, which was clearly planned, said police Public Information Officer Terrie Songer.
“He obviously knew the procedure to get the money bag,” she said.
